ASSIGNMENT 1: Experiential Landscape

Constructed landscapes are vital for human civilisation as most of our time are spent in them.  Therefore, it is important for us to understand them. In this Constructed Landscape assignment, we need to produce two A3 presentation boards and a reflection video based on our selected case study. The case study topics given are urban parks, passive landscape, streetscapes, plazas, playgrounds and waterfronts. For this assignment, i chose 'Waterfronts'.



In order to plan the layout of information on the boards, I had to select which data to put and arrange the selected data in a way that readers can understand easily. Also, I had to understand my case studies and the definition of the term 'waterfront' through intensive research via multiple medias.

ASSIGNMENT 2: SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE

Sustainable landcape encompasses a variety of practices that have developed in response to environmental issues. A sustainable landscape is designed to be both attractive and in balance with the local climate and environment. Thus, the design must be functional, cost-efficient, visually pleasing, environmentally friendly and maintainable.

In order to understand more about sustainable landscapes, students are required to conduct a case study on a green city. Individually, students are also required to conduct a research at a site in the Klang Valley. Research includes on the interaction of spaces, human activity and their responses that can be related to the given site.

Next, students are to design an A4 pamphlet that introduces the site, ideas and how to improve it make the site more sustainable.
